History and description

The villa was built in 1913 according to plans by the architect Wilhelm Koban . The builder was a vice admiral who never lived in the house. The first occupant of the villa was Friedrich von Hombergk zu Vach .

The villa has a belvedere - a lookout typical of coastal regions - which is decorated with stylized ship's steering wheels. The roof, which is covered with both plain tiles and slate, is remarkable . Koban anticipated expressionist elements when designing the belvedere .
