Kemwer was the name of the tenth Lower Egyptian district , which stretched in the southeastern Nile Delta from neighboring Bubastis (18th district) to the neighboring towns of Heliopolis and Cairo (13th district). It was named after the dead goddess Kemwer .
The capital of the district bore the ancient Egyptian name Hut-heri-ib - Ḥwt-ḥrj-jb (Kom el-Atrib) and was northeast of Banha . In Ptolemaic times her name was Athribis ( Greek Ἀθριβις ), accordingly the district was called Athribis at that time .
