Ken Hutchison

Ken Hutchison (born November 24, 1943 in Leslie , Scotland ) is a British actor .

Life

Ken Hutchison was born in a small Scottish village in 1943 . His desire to become an actor took him to Hollywood , where he was mostly cast as a violent brute. B. 1971 in Sam Peckinpah's thriller Who sows violence ( Straw Dogs ) with Dustin Hoffman . In 1972 he was also an Irish smuggler in Ralph Nelson's western To the Devil with Hosanna ( The Wrath of God ) alongside Robert Mitchum . He then returned to Great Britain , where he was henceforth mainly seen in television series, including nine episodes of The Onedin Line ( The Onedin Line , 1976) and 1977 in an episode of Lunar Base Alpha 1 ( Space: 1999 ). In 1978 he played the male lead as Heathcliff in a five-part BBC film adaptation of Emily Brontë's novel Sturmhöhe ( Wuthering Heights ).

However, he never made his big breakthrough. This was followed by other television appearances and small supporting roles in films such as Gandhi (1982) or Der Tag des Falken ( Ladyhawke , 1985). Most recently he appeared in five episodes of the British crime series The Bill until 1999 .
