Kendall Cedric Gill (born May 25, 1968 in Chicago , Illinois , United States ) is a retired American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association for 15 years .

NBA

Gill was selected as the fifth player in the 1990 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets . After being called up to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in his freshman year, he climbed in his sophomore year and scored 20.5 points, 5.1 rebounds , 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game. After another season in Charlotte, he moved to the Seattle SuperSonics in 1993 , where he formed a powerful backcourt with Gary Payton . He returned to Charlotte in 1995 but was transferred to the New Jersey Nets in the middle of the season . With the Nets he had his best year with 21.8 points in the 1996/97 season . In 1999 he was the best ball thief of the season with an average of 2.7 steals. After moving to the Miami Heat , his performance declined due to age. He still played, mostly as a key player with experience from the bench, a good 20 minutes on average for the Chicago Bulls , Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks before ending his career in 2005. Gill was valued for his good defense throughout his career. His career values ​​are 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals on average.
