Kenneth Cragg

(Albert) Kenneth Cragg (March 8, 1913 - November 13, 2012 ) was an Anglican cleric , bishop and researcher . For more than fifty years he has written numerous commentaries on religious topics, especially on Muslim-Christian relations.

Career

After graduating from Blackpool Grammar School and studying at Jesus College (Oxford) , Cragg received the Grafton Scholarship in 1934. He was ordained in 1937 .

He served first at the Higher Tranmere Parish Church, Birkenhead and then in the parish of All Saints in Beirut , then he was rector in Longworth . He was later professor of Arabic and Islam at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut . In 1970 he became Assistant Bishop of Jerusalem to the Episcopal Church of Jerusalem and the Middle East . From 1970 to 1974 he was Bishop of Egypt.

In 1940 he married Melita Arnold. She died in 1989.
