The Kennicutt Point is a headland at the Borchgrevink Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is 17.5 km north of Cape Washington and represents the southern limit of the entrance to Wood Bay .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2005 after Mahlon Kennicutt II, geochemist and environmental biologist from Texas A&M University , Geochemical and Environmental Research Group, who between 1990 and 2005 carried out several campaigns on the changes in the habitat of McMurdo Sound near McMurdo Station and had investigated at Arthur Harbor near Palmer Station .
