Kenth Eldebrink (born May 14, 1955 in Morjärv ) is a Swedish athlete who was successful in javelin throwing around 1980.

He won four state championships:

Width (m) 80.98 86.92 85.82 83.28

He took part in two European championships, once each in the world championships and once in the Olympic Games, and achieved the following placements:

  • European Championships 1978 in Prague : With 78.60 m he clearly missed the required qualifying distance of 80 m and came in 15th.
  • European Championships 1982 in Athens : Here too, 80 m were required in the qualification, which Eldebrink clearly surpassed with 83.76 m. In the final, however, he only managed 76.76 m, which meant 11th place (victory distance of Uwe Hohn from the GDR : 91.34 m). But even with his qualifying distance he would not have won a medal, as the third-placed Detlef Michel had reached over 89 m.
  • At the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki , he achieved his best international placement to date with 6th place (83.28 m), although he was very unlucky: His 85.64 m thrown in the qualification would have given him the silver medal behind Detlef Michel (gold with 89, 48 m).
  • The following year at the XX. The 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles finally struck its hour: The 83.72 m thrown in the final (an increase of more than 1.50 m compared to his qualification performance) was enough to win the bronze medal behind the Finn Arto Härkönen (gold with 86, 76 m) and the British David Ottley (silver with 85.74 m).
