Kerstin Kirst

Kerstin Kirst (born August 19, 1960 ) is a former rower who was second in the world championship three times for the GDR .

Athletic career

1978 won Kerstin Kirst in the quadruple sculls at the Junior World Championships .

In 1981 she competed at the World Championships in Munich with Jutta Hampe and won the silver medal behind Margerita Kokarewitsch and Antonina Machina from the Soviet Union. 1982 in Lucerne won Jelena Bratischko and Antonina Machina before Kerstin Kirst and Schröter Martina . At the world championships in 1983 in Duisburg, the double scull from the GDR took second place behind the boat from the USSR . The double foursome from the GDR rowed with Kerstin Kirst, Kerstin Pieloth , Cornelia Linse , Sylvia Schwabe and helmsman Andrea Rost .

The 1.73 m tall Kerstin Kirst rowed for SC Berlin-Grünau . In 1981 and 1983 she was GDR champion in the four-four.
