Kerstin Förster

Kerstin Förster , née Pieloth , (born November 9, 1965 in Cottbus ) is a former German rower . In 1988 she was Olympic champion in the double fours for the GDR .

Her career began in 1981 as a Spartakiade winner in double sculls, and in single she took second place. In 1982 she became Junior World Champion in double sculls with Ute Schade . Since advancing to the adult class in 1983, she has been in the quad sculls. After becoming vice world champion in 1983 with the double foursome, she won her first world championship title in 1986 together with Jana Sorgers , Kerstin Hinze and Birgit Peter . The following year, the boat again became world champion with Jutta Hampe instead of Kerstin Hinze. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , the GDR double scull won gold in the line-up of Jana Sorgers, Kristina Mundt , Beate Schramm and Kerstin Förster.

Kerstin Förster started for the SC Einheit Dresden . After her second world title, she married the rower Olaf Förster at the end of 1987 , who also became Olympic champion in 1988. The two have two children.

Kerstin Förster studied training science. Today she works as a freelance personnel and communication trainer in Dresden. In 2005 she published the book The Managerin and Her Majority .
