Chain of Golden Humor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

After Aachen, one of the most famous German carnival awards was presented in Hagen , the chain of the "Golden Humor" to the knight of the Golden Humor . As part of a festive event of the Great Hagen Carnival Society eV Närrischer Reichstag from 1881, the GHK President awards the donated chain from the estate of Wilhelm vom Hofe in a ceremony in the Hagen town hall. This award was given to public figures who gave the city's carnival festival a special character and who also earned services to the German carnival. Her attributes are humor, joke and satire of deeper meaning. The 40th necklace was awarded on November 20, 2004 to Udo Walpert, the honorary president of the Great Hagen Carnival Society. In 2005 and 2006 the chain was not awarded. Continuously declining visitor numbers and rising costs forced the GHK to suspend the event. In 2006 an event company was founded so that the award ceremony has been possible again since 2007.
