Dieter Haak
Dieter Haak (born March 18, 1938 in Breckerfeld ; † May 10, 2012 in Ireland ) was a German lawyer and politician of the SPD .
life and work
After graduating from high school in Hagen, Haak studied law and economics at the universities of Tübingen and Bonn in 1957 . He received his doctorate in 1963 and then moved to the Ruhr University Bochum . In 1965 he went to the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia .
Haak joined the SPD in 1962 and was a member of the Hagen city council from 1969 to 1975 . From 1970 to 1995 he represented his party in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia; from 1973 to 1975 he was the parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group, from 1975 to 1980 its chairman. From 1980 to 1983 he was first Minister for Federal Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia and then Minister of Justice until 1985 . During his time as minister, he was also a member or deputy member of the Federal Council.
After it became known that a partner from his office was involved in a building scandal, he had to resign from his ministerial office.
Dieter Haak died on May 10, 2012 while traveling in Ireland.
