Kevin Esteve Rigail (born December 27, 1989 in Escaldes-Engordany ) is an Andorran alpine skier . He skies all disciplines of alpine skiing, but his most successful discipline is the super combination . In slalom he has not yet started in the World Cup .

Career

Beginnings

Esteve drove his first FIS race on December 20, 2004 in La Molina, Spain . Until 2008 he only competed in Andorra, Italy , Spain and France . Then he started in races around the world. His first success was a second place in a giant slalom in La Molina in early 2007. He also competed in various junior competitions from 2004 to 2010. His first start in the Alpine Ski World Cup he had on 18 December 2010 in Val Gardena in the downhill , but when he retired.

World Championships and Olympic Games

His first major tournament was the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada . At that time he had not yet started a World Cup. He was 47th in the downhill and 39th in super-G . In the discipline in which he was later strongest, the super combination, he was eliminated. At the Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he achieved a significant improvement over the Olympic Games. Although he was completely eliminated in the Super-G and was only 71st in the giant slalom, he was 34th in the downhill and 21st in the super combined. In World Cups he did not get past 50th place. At the 2013 Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming , he was placed in the top 30th. After a 45th place in the Super-G, he came in 30th place in the downhill. In his top discipline, the Super Combi, he came 14th. His best World Cup result so far outside of world championships is a 50th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he came 32nd in the downhill discipline.
