Kevin McGarrity

Kevin McGarrity (born August 3, 1973 in Belfast , Northern Ireland ) is a retired British racing driver .

Career

Kevin McGarrity began his career in Formula Ford . In 1995 he finished second overall in the British championship and won the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch at the end of the season . He entered Formula 3000 in 1998 through Formula Opel and the British Formula 3 Championship . His best place in three seasons in this racing formula was second place in the 1999 Imola race .

In 2001 he switched to sports cars and became a works driver at MG . For the British sportscar team he left in 2001 and 2002 at the 24-hour race at Le Mans at the start. Both times he failed with the MG-Lola EX257 due to technical defects. In 2002 he was even briefly in the lead with the lightweight LMP675 racing car. After another appearance in Le Mans in 2004 and a few starts in the Le Mans Series in 2006 , he retired from racing at the end of this year.
