David "Robbie" Stirling (born September 7, 1960 in Toronto ) is a Canadian entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Racing career

Robbie Stirling drove motocross races in Canada in the 1980s and switched to racing on the circuit in 1988. He came to Europe and competed in touring and sports car races in the UK . In 1989 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , where he competed a total of five times until 2004 . The best place in the overall classification was the 16th place on the debut in 1989.

Despite a few attempts, he was unable to gain a foothold in Formula 3000 in the early 1990s . In 1993 and 1994 he was involved in the British championship , which was misleadingly referred to as the Formula 2 championship. The championship suffered from a lack of participation. In 1994 there were only four regular drivers at the start. In 1993 he was sixth overall (master Philippe Adams ) and fourth overall (master José Luis Di Palma ) in 1994 .

In the late 1990s, he increasingly turned to the Interseries , where he achieved several overall victories. In 1995 he won the overall ranking of Division III on a Lola T92 / 10 . and in 1996 the Lola championship in Division I.

At the end of the 2004 season, he resigned from professional motorsport and founded a company that markets racing events .
