Werner Lupberger

Werner Lupberger (born December 15, 1975 in Pretoria ) is a former South African racing driver .

Racing career

Werner Lupberger came to Europe in the early 1990s and competed in Formula 3 and Formula 2 races . After his first races in the British Formula 3 Championship , he was third overall in the British Formula 2 Championship in 1996 . Two years followed, 1997 and 1998 , in the International Formula 3000 Championship and in 1999 a second place behind Giorgio Vinella in the Italian Championship .

At the beginning of the 2000s, Lupberger competed in sports car races . He competed in the American Le Mans Series , finished seventeenth overall in the 2004 Le Mans 24 Hours and 27th in the Sebring 12 Hours in 2002 .
