Kevin Michael is the son of an African American and an Italian mother. He wrote his first songs at the age of 16. Producer Wyclef Jean noticed him and produced the first EP Ya Dig? which was available for download exclusively from the iTunes Store . In September 2007 the debut album Kevin Michael was released , on which the first hit single It Don't Make Any Difference to Me (1 Love) is represented. Two versions of this song have been released: a hip-hop version in a duet with Wyclef Jean and an acoustic version with rapper Akil Dasan . In the fall of 2007, Michael went on tour in the US to support Lily Allen and Maroon 5 . For the film (500) Days of Summer he covered the Etta James title At Last in 2009 . In May 2011, Michael's second album International was released on a Japanese label and in July 2011 the EP Covers for You , on which he interprets titles by Adele , Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga , among others .
