Khagrachhari ( Bengali : খাগড়াছড়ি , Khāgaṛāchaṛi ) is the district capital of the mountain district of the same name in southeastern Bangladesh . The city was founded in 1860 by Remrochai Chowdhury. Today about 40,000 people live in Khagrachhari. The city is not far from the Chingri River in the Chittagong Hill Tracts .
