Georges Abou Khazen

Georges Abou Khazen OFM (born August 3, 1947 in Aïn Zebdeh , Syria ) is a Syrian religious and apostolic vicar of Aleppo .

Life

Georges Abou Khazen joined the religious order of the Franciscans in, put on 3 August 1972, the Perpetual from and received on 28 June 1973, the priestly ordination .

Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Aleppo and Titular Bishop of Rusadus on November 4, 2013 , after he had administered the Vicariate as Apostolic Administrator since the resignation of his predecessor Giuseppe Nazzaro . He was ordained bishop by the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Leonardo Cardinal Sandri , on January 11 of the following year.
