Khouloud Daibes abu Dayyeh
Khouloud Daibes abu Dayyeh ( Arabic خلود دعيبس أبو دية, DMG Ḫulūd Duʿaibis Abū Diya , short form Khouloud Daibes , * 1966 in Bethlehem ) is a Palestinian architect , monument conservator , urban planner and from March 2007 to July 2012 was the Palestinian minister for tourism and antiquities and minister for women's affairs.
Daibes is in Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives grew up, attended the Christian girls' school Talitha Kumi and then studied as a DAAD - scholarship at the University of Hannover architecture . She did her PhD on the conservation of Palestinian cultural heritage. In 1995 she returned to Palestine and became director of the Center for Cultural Heritage in Bethlehem . She was the contact person for the DAAD in Israel and Palestine.
She was the first and only Christian woman in the first cabinet of the unity government and headed the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities from 2007 to 2012 and also the Ministry of Women from 2007 to 2009. In the course of the cabinet reshuffle in summer 2012, the Catholic, non-party minister was replaced by a Fatah representative.
Daibes has been accredited as Palestine Ambassador to Germany since August 28, 2013 .
Khlouloud Daibes is married and has three children.
