Kiai Nara

Kiai Nara ( Japanese 奈良 希 愛 , Nara Kiai ; * May 4th in Nishinomiya ) is a Japanese pianist . She is junior professor at the KUNITACHI University of Music and special teacher for Piano Art Academie at the SHOWA University of Music.

Life

She started playing the piano at the age of two. After studying at the Tokyo University of the Arts , she came to Berlin to study with Klaus Hellwig at the Berlin University of the Arts as a scholarship holder from the DAAD and the Japanese Ministry of Culture .

In 2004 she completed her concert exam with top marks. In the meantime she studied with Joaquin Soriano at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid , and also with Sergio Perticaroli in Rome .

In 2004 she went to New York City , where she studied at the Manhattan School of Music as a full scholarship holder (Professional Studies). There she also worked as an assistant for the chamber music department . In December 2004 she graduated in New York.

From 2006 to 2010 she was an associate professor at Sōai University in Osaka . Since 2010 she has been teaching as a professor at the Kunitachi Academy of Music in Tokyo.

She lives in Tokyo and Berlin .

Concert activities

She has performed through Europe , USA , Canada , Korea , Taiwan , and Japan .

As a chamber music partner, she plays a. a. with the members of the Berliner Philharmoniker , the Rundfunkorchester Berlin , the Staatskapelle Berlin , Staatskapelle Dresden and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin .

She also teaches in the master classes in Asia.
