Kiekut (Altenhof)

Kiekut ( Danish: Kikud ) is a town on the Eckernförde Bay in Schleswig-Holstein , which is an official part of the Altenhof municipality . The village is part of the " Coastal Landscape Protection Area Danish Wohld ".

In 1931 built and now directly on the national road 76 lying half-timbered - Kate with a thatched roof is now a restaurant . There used to be a brick factory in the village.

After the Second World War, emergency shelters were built directly on the beach below the steep coast and afterwards (managed by the Eckernförde Kurverwaltung) vacation homes from the Ich building, some of which are still standing today. A mission children's home was built above the steep coast from 1947 .
