history

The bank was founded on December 10, 1897 by around 50 master craftsmen as the cooperative fund "Handwerkerbank eGmbH zu Kiel", today's Kieler Volksbank eG.

Through several mergers, the business area was constantly expanding. On January 1, 1974 the merger with Elmschenhagener Volksbank took place, 5 years later on January 1, 1979 the merger with Volksbank Kiel-Ost and in 1997 the merger with Raiffeisenbank eG Flintbek .
