The Kiev Zoo ( Ukrainian Київський Зоопарк / Kyjiwskyj Soopark ; Russian Киевский зоопарк / Kijewski soopark ) is the only zoo of the Ukrainian capital Kiev and a zoo of national importance.
General information
The zoo, founded on March 21, 1909, was temporarily the largest zoo in the Soviet Union with an area of 34.22 hectares .
The entrance is on Victory Prospectus No. 32 in Kiev's Stadtrajon Shevchenko, not far from the Polytechnic Institute ( Політехнічний інститут ) subway station of the Kiev Metro .
The Kiev Zoo is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (summer) and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (winter).
