Kiira Korpi
Kiira Linda Katriina Korpi (born September 26, 1988 in Tampere ) is a Finnish figure skater . Her father Rauno is a professional ice hockey coach.
She started figure skating at the age of 5. Your trainer is Maaret Siromaa. Her participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, she finished in 16th place. She took part in the 2005 World Youth Championships and in 2006 the European Figure Skating Championships . After her second place (2004/2005) and third place (2005/2006) at the Finnish championship, she qualified for one of the two Finnish starting places at the 2006 Olympic Games through her result at the 2006 European championships (6th place). She won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2007 and was fourteenth at the World Championships. The following year she was ninth at the World Championships, at the European Championships she finished 5th. She achieved the same result at the European Championships in 2009, after becoming Finnish champion for the first time in the same season. At the European Championships in 2010 , she was able to improve to fourth place and narrowly missed the bronze medal. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Kiira Korpi finished 11th.
At the end of August 2015, Korpi announced her retirement from active competitive sports; but she wants to continue to appear in shows and participate in seminars.
