Kijewo (Szczecin)

Kijewo (German rose garden ) is a district of Szczecin , the capital of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The village in the east of Stettin east of the Oder formed its own municipality until 1937.

Until 1937, Rosengarten was a rural community in the Randow district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . In 1910 1060 inhabitants were counted here, in 1925 1263 inhabitants in 355 households. In addition to Rosengarten, the community also had the new Rosengarten and Rosengarten plantation .

On October 1, 1937, Rosengarten was incorporated into the neighboring town of Altdamm . In 1939 Altdamm was incorporated into the city district of Stettin.

In 1945, like all areas east of the Oder-Neisse line , Rosengarten came to Poland. Rose garden was given the Polish place name "Kijewo"
