history
In the Middle Ages, the village of Torney was on the hills west of the city. At the beginning of the 18th century it was destroyed in the Northern War and rebuilt elsewhere. It belonged to the Randow district in the Prussian province of Pomerania .
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, wide streets with apartment buildings were built, which still shape the character of the district today. In 1910 Torney was incorporated into Stettin.
Infrastructure and culture
In Turzyn there are numerous shops, shopping centers and a bazaar. The West Pomeranian Technical University has its campus here. A line from Dąbie (old dam) ends at Turzyn station and another leads to Szczecin Główny (main station) and Trzebież. The Andreas Bobola Church from 1929 is a sight.
