The Killer Whale Rocks (from English killer whale , killer whale ) are rocky shallows and cliffs in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located immediately northwest of Janus Island , 2.8 km southwest of Amsler Island and 3 km southwest of Anvers Island .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names adopted a locally common name in 2014. It is named after the rock resembling the fins of killer whales ( Orcinus orca , also known as killer whales ).
