Kim Jae-soo (born February 1, 1961 ) is a South Korean high altitude climber . He has climbed all eight-thousanders . According to his own statements, he climbed Cho Oyu in 1993, but this was not recognized by the professional world. Therefore, his ascent of Cho-Oyu in 2011 is considered the end of his personal eight-thousander series. Accordingly, Kim - counting the controversial performance of Oh Eun-sun - is the fifth South Korean and the 28th person ever to have stood on the 14 highest mountains in the world. For three of the summits he needed bottled oxygen as a climbing aid.
