Kim Jong-hyun (born July 21, 1985 in Gwangju ) is a South Korean marksman .
successes
Kim Jong-hyun took part in the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 . With the air rifle , he finished 17th with 593 points. In the competition with the small bore rifle in the three-position battle , he finished fifth in the qualification with 1171 points, which entitled him to reach the final. In this he achieved the best result of all eight finalists with 101.5 points, so that he pushed himself into second place with a total of 1272.5 and won the silver medal behind Niccolò Campriani , who set a new Olympic record, and ahead of Matthew Emmons . Four years later, he finished the qualification in the three-position battle with the small caliber in 16th place, with 1170 points he was four points behind the last qualification rank for the final, eighth place. The competition went far better for Kim in the prone position with the small bore: he survived the qualification as third with 628.1 points and was one of the last two shooters left in the final alongside Henri Junghänel . Kim did not catch up with his lead with the last shot and won the silver medal again behind Junghänel and in front of Kirill Grigorjan .
In 2010, Kim and Han Jin-seop and Kim Hak-man with the small -bore rifle in the prone position were runner-up behind the US team in Munich . At the continental level he was also in 2012 in Doha in a three-position battle with the small-caliber vice Asian champion. At the Asian Games in 2010 in Guangzhou , he also won the silver medal in a three-position fight in the individual, while he won the gold medal in the team competition. In addition, he took second place with the air rifle team and won another gold medal in the team competition with the small caliber in the prone position. In 2014 Kim finished the competition with the team in the three-position battle with the small bore in Incheon in second place.
