The competition Small-Bore Rifle Three Positions of the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was in the August 6, 2012 Royal Artillery Barracks played. 41 riflemen took part.
The competition took place in two rounds, a qualifying round and a final round. In the qualifying round each shooter had to fire 120 shots, 40 shots standing, 40 shots kneeling and 40 shots lying down. There were one to ten rings for each shot. The best eight shooters qualified for the final. Here, the shooters fired 10 shots each in the standing position, with the rating being divided into steps of 0.1 rings. The highest possible rating per shot was 10.9. The winner was determined by adding up the scores from qualification and final.

A total of four shooters achieved the same number of points. Of these four shooters, only one could qualify for the final. Each of the four shooters was entitled to five standing shots in the playoff. The ratings are divided into 0.1 steps.
