The competition trap the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was in on 5 and 6 August 2012 Royal Artillery Barracks played. 34 shooters took part.

The competition took place in two rounds, a qualifying round and a final round. In the qualifying round, each shooter had to shoot five series of 25 targets. Ten targets were thrown from the left, ten from the right and five straight ahead, each shooter being able to shoot the targets up to two times. Each hit resulted in a point. The six best shooters qualified for the final. In the final another series of 25 targets was thrown, but each shooter was only allowed to fire one shot per target. Here, too, each hit resulted in a point.

The shooters qualified for the final are highlighted in light green.
