Karsten Bindrich (born April 15, 1973 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German marksman. The trap specialist became world champion in 2003.

Life

After he had already won medals at world and European championships in the junior division, he first took part in the world championship in the adult class in 1994. He finished eleventh and won bronze with the team. In 1995 he became European champion with the team. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he finished eighth.

In 1998, Bindrich and the team were again European champions, in 2001 he won team silver, in 2002 bronze. In 2003 he won the title at the World Cup in Nicosia . In 2007 the World Cup was held again in Nicosia and Bindrich took third place. Immediately before the 2008 Olympic Games , Bindrich won the title at the European Championships in Nicosia. With 149 discs he set a new final record and improved the previous world record of Olympic champion Michael Diamond by one disc.

Bindrich lives in Eußenhausen and started his career at the shooting sports center Suhl , but has been working for the WTC Westfalenland Münster for years . The trained carpenter is a sports soldier.
