The competition Rapid Fire Pistol Men at the 2012 Olympics in London was in on 2 and 3 August 2012 Royal Artillery Barracks played. 39 riflemen took part.

The competition took place in two rounds, a qualifying round and a final round. In the qualifying round, each shooter fired 60 shots over 25 meters. The scoring of the hits ranged from 5 to 10 rings. Two half-programs were shot, each with two series in eight seconds, two series in six seconds and two series in four seconds. Each series consisted of five shots.

The six best shooters qualified for the final. The scoring started again at 0. Here 40 shots were fired in eight series of five shots. The shot had to have a rating of at least 9.7 to be considered a hit. There was four seconds for each series. From the fourth series onwards, the shooter with the lowest number of points was excluded until only two finalists remained to knock out the victory.

Leuris Pupo achieved the first Cuban Olympic victory with the rapid fire pistol. It was also the first ever Olympic victory for a Cuban shooter.
Vijay Kumar won the first Indian medal in this discipline.
