The 25 m shooting competition with the rapid fire pistol at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin took place on August 6th. The venue was the shooting range at Wannsee .

The Olympic champion was the German Cornelius van Oyen without a single miss.

Competition format

The starting order was drawn. The individual rounds were held according to the following format:

1st round: 3 rounds with 6 shots each - each target was visible for 8 seconds

2nd round: 6 shots - each target was visible for 6 seconds

3rd round: 6 shots - each target was visible for 4 seconds

4th round: 6 shots - each target was visible for 3 seconds

Sticking: 6 shots - each target was visible for 2 seconds

After the first round, all athletes were eliminated with fewer than 18 hits. After the second round, eleven other shooters were eliminated because they did not hit all six shots.
