Adam Joseph Vella (born June 12, 1971 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian sports shooter in the disciplines of trap and double trap .

Adam Vella took part in three Olympic Games . In 2004 he finished fifth in the trap in Athens with 121 points. In the final he scored a further 24 hits and placed third with a total of 145 points, so that he received the bronze medal. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , he missed another final entry in the trap with rank 15. He finished the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro in twelfth place.

At the 1998 World Championships in Barcelona , Vella won the team title in a double trap. In this discipline he was also vice world champion in Lima in 1997 and in Nicosia in 2003 , as well as in Lahti in 2002 and in Lonato del Garda in 2005 with the trap team. In 1997 he also secured bronze with this. In 2002 he succeeded in winning the silver medal in the trap at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in the individual competition, while he won gold in the pair competition. Both in Melbourne in 2006 and in New Delhi in 2010 , he repeated this success in the pair competition. At the Commonwealth Games 2014 he won gold in the trap singles for the first time.

Vella is married and has two children.
