Niccolò Campriani

Niccolò Campriani (born November 6, 1987 in Sesto Fiorentino ) is a former Italian sports shooter . He won three gold medals and one silver at the Olympic Games.

Athletic career

Niccolò Campriani started shooting sports in 2001. At the 2003 Junior European Championships he won the silver medal with the air rifle , followed by bronze in 2006. In 2007 Campriani won silver twice at the Junior European Championships: in small- bore three-position combat and in small-bore prone shooting. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he finished twelfth with the air rifle, with the small bore rifle he was 38th in prone shooting and 39th in three-position combat.

In 2009 he won the European championships with the air rifle, followed by the world championship in Munich in 2010. In 2011 he was third with the air rifle at the European Championships. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he reached the finals in all three disciplines. In the small caliber prone shooting, he took eighth place, in the three-position fight he won gold. With the air rifle he received silver behind the Romanian Alin Moldoveanu .

In 2015 he won silver with the air rifle at the European Championships in Arnhem. At the 2015 European Games in Baku, he also took second place with the air rifle. At the end of his career, he also reached the final three times at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In the small caliber prone shooting he was seventh, in the three-position fight and with the air rifle he won gold.
