Qiu Jian

Qiu Jian ( Chinese  邱 健 , Pinyin Qiū Jiàn ; born June 25, 1975 in Huai'an ) is a Chinese marksman specializing in small-bore rifles .

Qiu Jian took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. First he competed with the small-bore rifle in prone over 50 meters and was 19th. Two days later he won the gold medal in the three-position battle with 1,272.5 points, 0.1 points ahead of Jurij Suchorukow and 0.8 points ahead of Rajmond Debevec . He benefited from the missed shot of the US American Matthew Emmons , who landed the worst shot of the final with his last shot in the lead and thus slipped to fourth place.

Qiu has been a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Shooting Team since 1993 and the national team of China since 2001. His trainer is Ma Jun. 2000, 2003 and 2006 he won the national titles with the air rifle . In 2002 he was Asian champion, in 2001 he won the World Cup final. He set national records three times.
