Cai Yalin ( Chinese 蔡亚林 , Pinyin Cài Yàlín ; born September 3, 1977 in Chengde ) is a former Chinese sports shooter .
successes
Cai Yalin took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in two disciplines. In the three-position fight with the small-bore rifle, he did not get past 38th place with 1143 points, while he scored 594 points with the air rifle, making it the best shooter in the final. In this he maintained the lead thanks to 102.4 points and was Olympic champion ahead of Artyom Hadschibekow and Yevgeny Aleinikow with 696.4 total points . Two years later he was runner- up in Lahti with the air rifle team . At the Asian Games he won the gold medal in the individual competition with the air rifle in Bangkok in 1998 and also took first place with the small-bore rifle in the team competition of the three-position fight. He finished second with the air rifle team. In 2002 in Busan , he repeated the title win with the team in the three-position battle with the small-bore rifle and also won the gold medal with the team in the competition with the air rifle.
