Kim Jong-pil (born March 11, 1955 ) is a former South Korean football player and current coach . He spent his career in South Korea . He played for Korea Development Bank FC and Daewoo FC .

Career as a player

Little is known about his career as an active player. He played for Anyang Technical High School and graduated from there.

Kim Jong-pil was under contract with Daewoo FC from 1980 . How long and how often he played for the club is unknown.

Career as a coach

Not much is known about his coaching days before he became a coach in the K League Challenge . He had been to various schools in Gyeonggi-do from 1983 to 2013 . First he got a contract at the age of 28 as a coach in 1983 in the city of Anyang at Anyang Middle School , today's FC Anyang Junior School. There he looked after the team for seven years before leaving school in 1990. He transferred to Anyang Technical High School in Anyang City . There he had held the function of trainer and teacher. He stayed for 15 years before dropping out of school for Hongik University at 35 . There he also had the same functions. In mid-2013, at the age of 58, he left school and signed a contract with Chungju Hummel FC - a founding member of the K League Challenge. In his first season he won the second round against Yongin University 2-0 and qualified his team for the 16 final of the Korean FA Cup . In the 16 final they played against Gwangju FC in Gwangju and lost 3-2 after extra time. In the league, his team was last with just 29 points from 35 games. In his second season they lost in the cup in the second round against Aju University on penalties with 2: 4 and in the league they were only penultimate with 34 points from 36 games. In his third season he was able to win in the third round against Kyung Hee University 2-0. In the 16 final they played against Ansan Police FC and won 4: 3 on penalties in Ansan . In the round of 16, however, it was over against Jeonnam Dragons . At home they lost clearly 1: 4. In the league, Chungju Hummel FC was again last with 41 points from 40 games. At the end of 2015, the club announced that it would not submit a new contract due to the failure. At the end of 2015, his stint at Chungju Hummel FC was over. Towards the end of the 2016 season , FC Anyang announced that they had signed him as the new coach.
