Kim Magnus (born July 21, 1998 in Busan ) is a South Korean cross-country skier .

Career

Born in Busan to a Norwegian and a South Korean, Kim grew up in Geilo, Norway , and competed in the cross-country skiing world cup in Lillehammer for the first time in December 2015 . There he finished 66th in the skiathlon race . In February 2015 he became Norwegian junior sprint champion. The following year he won the silver medal in the sprint and the gold medal in the cross and over 10 km freestyle at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Rasnov in 2016 , he won the silver medal over 10 km classic and in the sprint. He was also fifth in the 15 km freestyle. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he finished 77th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer. At the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo , he won the bronze medal with the relay, the silver medal over 10 km classic and the gold medal in the sprint. The following year he ran at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Goms to 18th place in the sprint and ninth place over 10 km classic. His best placings at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 45th place over 15 km freestyle and 26th place together with Kim Eun-ho in the team sprint. In March 2018 he got his first World Cup points with 19th place in the sprint in Drammen and finished 75th in the World Cup final in Falun . He came back into the points with 27th place in the sprint.
