Kim Yeon-koung (born February 26, 1988 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a South Korean volleyball player .
Kim Yeon-koung played for Heungkuk Life in her homeland from 2005 to 2009 and was three times the South Korean champion. From 2009 to 2011 she played in Japan for JT Marvelous. From 2011 to 2017 she played in Turkey for Fenerbahçe Universal , with whom she won the Champions League in 2012 , the CEV Cup in 2014 and the national double in 2015 and 2017. In 2017/18 Kim Yeon-koung played volleyball in China at Shanghai . Since 2018 she has been active again in Turkey at Eczacibasi Vitra .
Since 2005 Kim Yeon-koung has also played in the South Korean national team . She was recognized as a top scorer at various Asian competitions. In 2012, the diagonal attacker reached fourth place with the national team at the Olympic Games in London and was again recognized as top scorer and MVP. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she finished fifth.
