Kim "sOs" Yoo-jin (born October 16, 1993 ) is a professional South Korean e-athlete in the StarCraft II discipline . He plays the Protoss breed and has been under contract with the Jin Air Green Wings team since the end of 2013 , having previously played for the Woongjin Stars for a few years.
Career
In StarCraft BroodWar, the predecessor of StarCraft II, sOs already played under the nickname sHy. His greatest individual success, however, was reaching the sixteenth finals at the MSL 2010-11. It wasn't until 2013 when sOs switched to StarCraft II that it became one of the best StarCraft players in the world.
After a second place at the WCS Season 1 Finals 2013 and the victory at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2013 (2-1 victory in the final over Flash ), he won the Battle.net WCS World Championship at Blizzcon in November 2013 and thus $ 100,000 in prize money.
The year 2014 got off to a similarly successful start for him: with the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in Katowice , he won another tournament with $ 100,000 in prize money.
In May 2014 it was announced that a Boeing 737-800 from team sponsor Jin Air Green Wings will in future carry the portrait of sOs on the rudder.
In terms of prize money won, he is 6th among the most successful StarCraft II players with over $ 600,000 (as of December 2019).
