Kimberly Steward

Kimberly Steward (* 1981 or 1982 ) is an American film producer .

Life

Kimberly Steward grew up in St. Louis . After college, she moved to New York City . Her father is billionaire David Steward , the founder and chairman of World Wide Technology.

Steward's career in the film business began in 2014 with the documentary Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People , which was shown at the Berlinale , among others . Her breakthrough came with the Oscar-nominated film Manchester by the Sea , for which she was nominated for Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards together with Matt Damon , Chris Moore , Lauren Beck and Kevin J. Walsh . Steward is only the second African American woman to receive a nomination in this category after Oprah Winfrey .
