Kincardine Castle (Auchterarder)

Kincardine Castle is a mansion about 1.5 km southwest of Auchterarder in the Scottish administrative division of Perth and Kinross . The 19th century building sits on the banks of Ruthven Water .

The neo-Gothic house was built in 1801-1803 and Historic Scotland has listed it as a Category B Historic Building.

The building has two full floors and a basement and consists of square cut rubble stones . The entrance facade is on the northwest side and has a central bay three windows wide with a raised parapet between octagonal tourelles . This is followed by outer yokes, each with a window and sloping bay windows , as well as two light inlets above. The side facades are two windows wide; the windows have square roofs . The central bay of the garden facade is also three windows wide and is flanked by corner towers. The garden facade also has a window-wide outer yoke. The basement is designed as a full floor on the garden side.

The entrance hall is equipped with a neo-Gothic cornice over arches. Otherwise, the interior is kept simple and classic.
