Presentation and advertising

There were various advertising slogans for the chocolate bonbons , including a small extra portion of milk bon for bon , the little irresistible ones and that tastes like fun .

Until the 2010s, the commercials often used rhymes . An advertisement in which two boys were holding a kind of rhyme competition to get the last chocolate candy was parodied twice on the television show Switch reloaded . In one of these two skits, the chocolate bons are presented as a drug called " LSD Bons".

criticism

As part of a 2015 study, Foodwatch criticized several manufacturers who would encourage children to buy their food with a high sugar and / or fat content with trivialized advertising mascots and hands-on activities. Among these products were the chocolate candies with a collection campaign and their advertising character “Mr. Chocolate Bon ”.

In 2016 an article appeared in the German Greenpeace magazine accusing Ferrero of child labor in the hazelnut and cocoa harvest. According to the Italian manufacturer , the nuts, which, along with other Ferrero products, are also found in chocolate candies , come mainly from Turkish plantations. Child labor is a major problem in these areas. According to Greenpeace, the same situation also applies to the cocoa harvest for Ferrero products in Ivory Coast . The company stated in writing that it does not tolerate child labor and is committed to better living conditions for farmers and seasonal workers.

A similar article in Die Zeit from 2014 went uncommented by Ferrero.
