The Kindermann GmbH is a German tradition manufacturer of lamps , projectors and projection technology . Founded as a family company in Berlin , kerosene lamps were initially manufactured in 1861 . The company calls itself u. a. as the inventor of the chain of lights and manufactured the first slide projectors with a magazine in Europe .

In 1943 Kindermann was relocated to Heidingsfeld . In 1950, Kindermann moved its headquarters to Ochsenfurt in Franconia . In post-war Germany Kindermann was a well-known manufacturer of slide projectors and the episcopes often used in schools , later of overhead projectors ( brand name “Famulus”). In 1982 Kindermann and Leitz launched the Leitz Kindermann magazine for unglazed slides. Some of the smaller slide projectors from Leitz were equipped with Kindermann technology (Pradovit R 150, Pradovit RA 150) or manufactured entirely by Kindermann from 1988 to 1990 (Pradovit 153/253).

Data and video projectors have been produced since 1982. During the company's heyday, around 400 people were employed in Ochsenfurt. The product range included slide and writing projectors, photo laboratory devices, microfilm reading devices, electrical information systems and daylight projectors .

In June 2003 the company filed for bankruptcy after the company fell into the red. A social plan was set up for the dismissed employees . As part of a realignment of the product range after the bankruptcy, a focus was placed on the growth market of professional presentation and conference technology. In 2007, the company won a nationwide IT innovation award with an XGA data projector.

After four years of work under insolvency administration, Paulinus Hohmann , owner of ADAPT Elektronik GmbH , has been the new owner and managing director of the company, which now operates as Kindermann GmbH, since 2007 .

In 2009 the insolvent Dutch sales partner H3O was taken over into the company as H3O Kindermann GmbH (i.Gr.). Kindermann's headquarters were relocated to nearby Eibelstadt in 2012 as part of a space expansion .
