Kineo Computer Aided Motion ( Kineo CAM ) is a software manufacturer based in Toulouse , France , which won the European ICT Prize in Hanover in 2007 for KineoWorks, its automatic path planning and motion planning technology .
KineoWorks is a software component that is specifically used for motion planning for automated movements in mechanical systems or virtual artifacts in 3D environments.
KCD is a library for collision detection with an object-oriented API . It is part of KineoWorks or can be used as an independent component. It is based on a hierarchical structure of heterogeneous data types, based on the composite design pattern , and is especially optimized for use on large 3D models.
The core markets of Kineo CAM are PLM and CAD systems, as well as robotics and coordinate measuring machines .
history
The founding of Kineo CAM in December 2000 is based on 15 years of research activities by the Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture System (LAAS) at the French Center national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS). In 2012 the company was taken over by Siemens.
