King's Tonic is a German and English speaking punk rock group from Dortmund . She plays guitar, vocals, drums and bass. Live they are primarily active as a duo with acoustic guitars.

history

King's Tonic was founded in 2002. After guitarist Swen O. Heiland and drummer Andreas Bargel joined the group in 2003, the band recorded their first album in the same year and released it a short time later. In 2007, ex- Rage drummer Christos Efthimiadis replaced Andreas Bargel, before his brother Spiros Efthimiadis also joined the group in 2008. Since 2012 the group has been mainly active as a duo with changing guest musicians.

The band has released five albums so far and played concerts in Europe, Asia and North America, among others. a. with the H-Blockx , Emil Bulls , Running Wild , Liquido , Extrabreit , Lotto King Karl , Fools Garden or Itchy Poopzkid .

In addition to various soundtracks and sampler contributions, King's Tonic also contributed the title song to the audio book Yurumi Gang - Onkel Herbert's Legacy by Bernd Gieseking in 2010 , in which she also played a supporting role.

In 2012 the band released the fan anthem Monarchie des Klopp , which appeared on the official Borussia Dortmund master compilation Echte Liebe - BVB Hits 2012 . The work is dedicated to the then BVB trainer Jürgen Klopp and a reinterpretation of the song Monarchie des Rock , published in 2010 . Shortly after its release, the track was named Dortmund's most popular master song in 2012 by the local radio station Radio 91.2 . For the final of the DFB Cup , the band played the song at the public viewing on the Berlin Waldbühne in front of around 18,000 spectators; The CD Echte Liebe - BVB Hits 2012 entered the German compilation charts at number 13 one week after its release.

The band's sixth release was released on September 2, 2016: the album Tanz mit mir , which is distributed via Timezone .
