King Naresuan ( Thai : ตำนาน สมเด็จ พระ นเรศวร มหาราช ) is a Thai feature film series by director Chatrichalerm Yukol (nickname Tan Mui ), which was shot from 2006 to 2015.

background

The premiere of the film in Thailand was announced for more than half a year, so that high expectations were raised. A historic production was to be expected that would match or even surpass the quality and success of The Legend of Suriyothai . The first part of the film was then shown in Thailand's cinemas on January 18, 2007, after it had been previously announced for December 21, 2006. The first part ran successfully and on February 15 (instead of February 1, as originally announced), the second part was started.

6 parts have now been published and the 2015 epic ended with that.

The film caused a real hype in Thailand, so that on May 5, 2007, the film sets on which King Naresuan was shot were made available to the public.

The first part is included together with the second part in the special edition of the German DVD and Blu-ray Disc King Naresuan - The Ruler of Siam .
