The King River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland , in the Far North Queensland region on the Cape York Peninsula .

River course

The river has its source northwest of Flying Fox Hill , about 240 km west-northwest of Cooktown . The King River flows south and joins the Coleman River about 12 km east of Strathaven .
